Bioresonance vs Rife Machine: What's the Real Difference?

Bioresonance and Rife machine therapy are often confused. A San Antonio practitioner breaks down the history, the tech, the overlap, and which one to choose for common wellness goals.

If you've been researching frequency therapy, you've probably seen both terms — bioresonance and Rife machine — used almost interchangeably. They're related, but they are not the same thing. Understanding the difference helps you pick the right kind of session for your goals.

Same family, different origins

Rife devices trace back to Royal Rife's 1930s work on electromagnetic resonance of microorganisms. Bioresonance emerged out of German biophysics in the 1970s, focused on reading the body's biofield and re-introducing coherent signals to support regulation.

Different origins, overlapping idea: the body responds to specific electromagnetic frequencies, and thoughtful use of those frequencies can support balance and recovery.

How the technology differs in practice

Rife-style devices

  • Deliver pre-programmed frequency sets, often via plasma tubes, contact plates, or hand cylinders.
  • Focus on running specific frequency protocols for a chosen goal — sleep, focus, recovery.
  • Typically one-way: the device broadcasts, you receive.

Bioresonance devices

  • Start with a scan that reads how your biofield and organ systems respond.
  • Personalize the frequency output based on what the scan reveals.
  • Two-way: the device reads and responds, so protocols are tailored to you rather than one-size-fits-all.

Where they overlap

Most modern wellness clinics — ours included — use hybrid systems that can run both classic Rife-style protocols and personalized bioresonance protocols in the same session. In real-world use the two approaches complement each other.

Which is better for which goal?

  • Sleep, stress, and nervous-system reset: bioresonance tends to feel more targeted because it's based on your live scan.
  • Recovery, focus, or a repeatable at-home routine: Rife-style protocol libraries are ideal — same frequencies, on demand.
  • General wellness maintenance: alternating both, as most of our members do, keeps things fresh and effective.

What neither of them is

Neither bioresonance nor Rife-style devices are medical treatments for specific diseases. They are complementary wellness tools. If a clinic promises they will cure a diagnosed condition, walk away.

How we run it in San Antonio

At Infinity Epigenetics we start most new clients with a full bioresonance scan, then blend personalized bioresonance sessions with Rife-style protocol runs based on goals. Members get unlimited in-clinic sessions plus at-home access to our frequency library on the $369/month plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is bioresonance just a rebrand of a Rife machine?+

No. They share the underlying idea that frequencies influence the body, but bioresonance adds a scanning step and personalizes output, while classic Rife devices run fixed protocol sets.

Which one has more research?+

Both have limited peer-reviewed research. Bioresonance has more published clinical work coming out of European integrative medicine, particularly around stress, sleep, and sensitivities.

Can I do both in one visit?+

Yes. Most of our sessions combine a scan-based bioresonance protocol with a targeted Rife-style protocol for the client's top goal.

Are either of them safe for everyone?+

They are safe for most healthy adults. We do not run sessions during pregnancy or for clients with pacemakers or implanted electrical devices.
